Welcome to my little corner of cyberspace dedicated to Heroes: Literary Heroes. You know, the kind you find in books.
I felt it was time I gave my favourites a proper shrine, so here it is.

Where have all the good men gone

And where are all the gods?

Where's the street-wise Hercules

To fight the rising odds?

Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?

Late at night I toss and I turn and I dream of what I need

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'till the end of the night

He's gotta be strong

And he's gotta be fast

And he's gotta be fresh from the fight

I need a hero

I'm holding out for a hero 'till the morning light

He's gotta be sure

And it's gotta be soon

And he's gotta be larger than life

Lager than life

Who doesn't need a Hero once in a while. And the best places to find them, of course, are books. There are millions and millions of stories about all kinds of Heroes. There's Harry Potter, teenage wizard, trying to save the world from evil, Lyra looking for the source of Dust, Mr Darcy fighting his own prejudices, Anne Shirley searching for her Mr Right, Andrea struggling through a year of fashion hell, Captain Holly Short attempting to stop a young criminal mastermind and many, many, many more.
